SWISS to launch new flights from Zurich to Singapore

Swiss International Air Lines has confirmed it will launch a new service between Singapore and Zurich next May.

The new route will be operated using Airbus A340-300 aircraft offering 219 seats.

The westbound LX179 flight will depart from Singapore at 23:05 and arrive in Zurich at 06:10 the following day.

The eastbound LX178 service will leave Zurich at 22:45 and touchdown in Singapore at 17:10 the next day.

The new flights will be bookable via swiss.com and all further reservations channels and outlets from October 8th onwards.

“Singapore is one of Switzerland’s most important intercontinental markets, and one that has seen constant growth over the past few years,” said Magdalene Ong, SWISS country manager Singapore.

“By providing our new daily service to Singapore, we aim to meet this substantial demand.

“Our new non-stop flights between two of the leading business and financial centres in Europe and Southeast Asia will ideally complement the existing services offered by our Star Alliance partners,” Ong continued.

“Given the excellence of Singapore’s Changi hub, they should also prove popular with connecting leisure travellers from Australia, New Zealand and Asia’s growth markets looking to visit Switzerland and its many vacation resorts.”
