Seychelles set for back-to-back marketing activities in the Far East

The Seychelles islands are set to partake in two back-to-back marketing activities - the 2012 CITM trade fair and destination workshop by Air Seychelles - in the Far East this November. A Seychelles delegation, composed of players from the islands’ tourism industry, will first be in Shanghai, China, to participate in the 2012 CITM trade fair, which is the island’s last tourism exhibition for the Asian market for this year.

The CITM trade fair - China International Travel Mart - will be held in Shanghai from November 15-18, where the Seychelles destination will be represented at the 2012 CITM at a 27 sqm booth by officials of the Seychelles Tourism Board, which include its Chief Executive Officer, Elsia Grandcourt, and her Senior Marketing Executive, Stephanie Lablache.

Partnering with the Seychelles Tourism Board are four local trade partners with their representatives comprising Eddie D’offay ([email protected]) and Hongyan Li of Mason’s Travel, Rose Sham ([email protected]) and Stella Liu of Creole Travel Services, Johnette Labiche ([email protected]) of Berjaya Beau Vallon Beach Resort&Casino, and Lanqiu Qi of 7South.

CITM is the largest professional travel show in Asia with its participants coming from all sectors of the travel industry including international and domestic tourist organizations, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, and related companies.

Held annually, it provides tourism professionals with a platform to network and develop new partnerships, as well as to meet up with existing partners. On the days it is opened to the public, exhibitors have the ideal opportunity of directly promoting their destinations and tourism products to visitors.

After the 2012 CITM, the presence of the Seychelles islands will be given an added boost in the Asian market through a workshop in Hong Kong, organized by Air Seychelles ([email protected]).

Scheduled to take place for 2 days, from November 20-21, the workshop has been organized by the airline in line with its introduction flight into Hong Kong in February 2013 so as to further position the destination in this region.

Teaming up with Air Seychelles is the Seychelles Tourism Board, which will be represented by CEO Elsia Grandcourt, Ms. Stephanie Lablache, and the Seychelles Tourism Office representative in China, Jean Luc-Laim. Trade partner 7South ([email protected]), Creole Travel Services ([email protected]), Seychelles Reservations ([email protected]), Raffles Praslin Seychelles ([email protected]), Beachcomber Sainte Anne Resort ([email protected]), Select Seychelles ([email protected]), and Mason’s Travel ([email protected]) will also be joining in for the workshop.

The first day of the workshop, which is geared towards the travel trade of Hong Kong, will be opened with a presentations by Air Seychelles; Executive Officer, Cramer Ball, after which, the floor will be opened for a destination presentation by the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Elsia Grandcourt. The presentations will then be followed by one-on-one meetings with attendees of the workshop.

The workshop will end on the following day on November 21 with a media lunch, whereby Air Seychelles together with the Seychelles Tourism Board will be holding a presentation for the Hong Kong press and providing them with updates on the destination.
