Samba Queen thrills at Seychelles and La Reunion Carnival
A Samba Queen and their group of dancers took center stage at the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Carnival and thrilled the thousands of islanders who lined the streets of Victoria to watch the carnival’s opening ceremony and the carnival procession. The spectacular samba dancers were a highlight as soon as they moved on stage with loud screams from the general public.
They arrived in Seychelles along with the Notting Hill Carnival from the UK to participate in the island’s carnival. They were present at the same carnival in 2011, but returned for the 2012 carnival with a bigger delegation and came all out to impress the mid-ocean islanders.
“They were spectacular - their costumes were a delight and they kept the crowd focused on them as they went through Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles,” a British journalist said.
Notting Hill Carnival is rated among the top carnivals of the world and have now confirmed to the islands of Seychelles and La Reunion their interest to be part of the Indian Ocean Carnival annually.
