Reed Exhibitions India introduces SITL India 2012

Reed Exhibitions India has announced the dates of SITL India 2012, their inaugural event for the transport and logistics industry. SITL India will take place from 23 – 25 February 2012 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India. SITL India benefits from the experiences of the 6 global events that form the Reed Transport and Logistics Group, all leaders in the markets they serve.

The argument for an India centric event that covers transportation and logistics for the entire cycle has never been more relevant than in today’s scenario. By linking the world of logistics in India, SITL India aims to provide a much needed platform for the industry. The event features 5 sectors of activity covering the complete chain: Transport and logistics services, Logistics infrastructures, Logistics real estate, Transport and logistics information systems and technologies and Materials handling equipment and systems.

With SITL India, the vast sections of India Inc. involved directly or indirectly in the transport of goods and logistics services will now have access to a local event with a global lineage where they can find not only products and innovative services aimed at supply, distribution and the supply chain of tomorrow, but also opportunities to network with their peers from across industry segments. The potential for information exchange is simply mind boggling.

Ms. Delphine Lemaire, managing director, Reed Exhibitions India said, “The transport and logistics sector, though under developed and underserved, has recently started seeing an upsurge, thanks in large part to government initiatives across the sector and sustained infrastructure investments - the Union Budget for 2011-2012 can only add a welcome impetus to these developments. Many logistics players are now evolving to provide third party logistics and also offer a mix of other services. With SITL India, transport and logistics companies will now have the perfect opportunity to showcase themselves to the vast array of industries they serve.”

SITL India will provide a platform for transportation and logistics solutions providers from across the entire chain and help foster dialogue between global players with access to cutting edge technology; know how, processes and systems and Indian companies looking to replicate their success. “Given the global nature of the mother brand, participation is expected from companies all over the world. FIT (Flanders Investment & Trade) have confirmed a pavilion and the participation of the Port of Zeebrugge and the Port of Ghent on their pavilion at SITL India 2012”, said Ms. Lemaire.

SITL India aims to become the industry platform and annual meeting place for anyone with an interest in the Indian transport and logistics market and through an intensive cross-sector marketing programme aims to bring in quality visitors - senior executives from a broad range of industry segments across the country looking for the latest innovations and solutions and with real projects to implement.
