O’Dea to lead Campbell Gray Hotels

Campbell Gray Hotels has announced the appointment of Alan O’Dea as managing director.

O’Dea joins the company following a successful and varied 20-year career in the hospitality sector.

Further to gaining a degree in hotel and catering management at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology in his native Ireland, O’Dea has since held several senior positions within globally-recognised hospitality groups including, most recently, spending 12 years with the Swiss-based Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts where he resided in Paris, Zurich, Cairo and Dubai in his role as senior vice president, Africa.

Prior to joining Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, O’Dea was regional director of revenue management, France, for InterContinental Hotels Group and director of revenue management for Le Meridien Hotels in Paris.

Through his time spent working in Dubai, O’Dea developed a deep understanding of - and connection to - the Middle East, leaving him perfectly positioned to take up his new role at Campbell Gray Hotels, whose flagship properties include Le Gray in Beirut, Campbell Gray Living Hotel & Residences in Amman, Jordan, The Phoenicia in Malta and the, soon to open, The Merchant House in Bahrain.

As managing director, O’Dea will oversee the day-to-day running of the company and ensure the continued high-performance of its six hotels and its Campbell Gray Living arm.

Founder of Campbell Gray Hotels, Gordon Campbell Gray, retains an integral role in the company preserving the high standards for which Campbell Gray Hotels is known, overseeing hotel design implementation, and protecting the company’s unique DNA for the future.

Campbell Gray said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Alan as managing director of Campbell Gray Hotels.

“His role will be crucial as the company continues to evolve.

“We’re looking forward to an exciting year ahead and to continued success.”
