Jerusalem International Tourism Summit draws to close

The Jerusalem International Tourism Summit, held at the ICC Jerusalem, has come to a close, having drawn industry leaders from Europe, the Far East, Australia and the United States.

The JITS 2013, which took place for the 2nd time at the Jerusalem International Convention Centre, lasted two days and dealt with innovative technologies and trends in tourism and travel.

The summit brought together key figures in the global tourism industry, decision makers, entrepreneurs and investors and experts in the field of tourism.

Panels at the conference included topics such as: “Planning Models for Urban
Tourism,” “Tourism as a Tool for Urban Economic Development,” and “The Smartphone Revolution and the Impact on Users and Managers of Urban Tourism”.

Among the distinguished speakers who took part in the summit were: the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, Sheldon Adelson, chairman, Las Vegas Sands Corporation, Charm Lee, president, Korea Tourism Organisation, Alison Copus, vice president, marketing, TripAdvisor for Business, and many others.

The Second Jerusalem International Tourism Summit for 2013 is initiated by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Tourism, the Jerusalem Municipality and the Jerusalem Development Authority in cooperation with the Hebrew University and the Jerusalem International Convention Centre.
