Muscat International Airport welcomed a new airline, Ethiopian Airlines started its flights to Muscat on the early morning of 28th of December 2011, this is the third African Airline operating to Oman.

According to Wihaad Al-Harthy, Marketing Manager Aeronautical from Oman Airports Management Company, Ethiopian Airlines is the national Airline of Ethiopia based in the capital Addis Ababa and it takes Bole International Airport a hub for it is operations, the airline will provide a wider choice for passengers traveling to Ethiopia and to the African Continent.

The airline was established in 1946, it currently operates a fleet of 48 aircrafts and is connected with 62 International and 17 domestic destinations. Ethiopian Airline are operating three weekly flights between Muscat and Addis Ababa every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday with a Boeing 737 aircraft, flight ET 624 will depart Addis Ababa at 23:30 and arrive Muscat at 04:10, flight ET 625 will depart Muscat at 05:10 and arrive Addis Ababa at 07:50.

This is the 29th airline operating scheduled flights to Muscat International Airport, this will contribute to increase in passengers and flight movements through the airport in 2012. National Travel & Tourism LLC are the local General Sales Agents for Ethiopian Airlines in Oman.
