It is the first time that Mr. Didier Robert and Mr. Pascal Viroleau, the Director of the IRT (The La Reunion Tourism Board), have been invited to participate in this marketing meeting.

“This meeting is very important in view of the fact of the importance of regional cooperation and for the continued development of tourism. We wish to be able to develop synergies to jointly market our two islands, to consolidate our air access, and to increase our visitor arrival numbers, with greater emphasis on the diversification of our main markets and air access routes,” the Seychelles President, Mr. James Michel, said following his meeting with Mr. Didier Robert of La Reunion.

President Michel said that he remained confident of countinued growth in the tourism sector even with the economic difficulties in Europe.

Attending the meeting between President James Michel and Mr. Didier Robert of La Reunion were Ambassador Barry Faure, the Secretary of State in the Seychelles President’s Office, and also the Chairman of the Seychelles Tourism Board and Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
