CSX updates status of storm recovery

CSX has substantially cleared its track infrastructure affected by Hurricane Irene.  However train service in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions remains slow as recovery efforts continue, commercial power is restored, and the substantial backlog of trains is worked down.
In addition to securing its entire rail network in the storm affected regions, CSX employees have removed hundreds of trees, recovered dozens of miles of flooded track and damaged roadbed, and deployed generator power to facilities, signals and crossing devices across these areas.  The progress has been substantial, though significant work remains to be done.  CSX greatly appreciates the ongoing patience and cooperation of its customers.
