Sandals St Lucia to host 2009 Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Marketplace

Sandals have proudly announced that the 2009 Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHA) Marketplace will be held on the future site of Sandals Grande St. Lucian’s 200-room expansion, The Greek Village.The event is scheduled to take place between January 18 and 20, 2009 in Gros Islet, St. Lucia. It is predicted to have a record number of attendances with more than 17,000 appointments and 16,000 business meetings reported to date.

“We are thrilled that this year’s CHA Marketplace will be held in St. Lucia,” said Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts. “Sandals Resorts boasts three resort properties on the island and we’re excited to introduce attendees to the new upscale direction of the Saint Lucian tourism product.  We are flattered that CHA has selected such a picturesque piece of land - the future site of Sandals Grande St. Lucian’s Greek Village - to host the event and help underscore the luxury messaging.”

The Greek Village, set to open in 2011 is rumoured to consist of 220 rooms and suites featuring the best of Sandals Resorts’ top room categories: Swim-Up River Suites; Rondoval Suites; and 20 Over-the-Water Bungalows, the first of there kind in the Caribbean and a brand new first for Sandals.

The update will transform the already luxury into something extraordinary with lavish amenities and décor elements created on each 13,000 sq foot.

There will also be a Kimonos Restaurant and sushi bar in the village.
