Expedia!fun Expands into Mexico
Expedia has expanded its Expedia!fun(TM) brand in Mexico through a
relationship with Fiesta Holidays. Under the agreement,
seven Fiesta Holidays hotel desks in Cozumel will be re-branded as
Expedia!fun(TM) kiosks, where travelers can easily book excursions in the
hotel lobby - from a tour of Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza to scuba diving
and deep-sea fishing.“Working with Fiesta Holidays to extend the Expedia!fun(TM) brand in
Cozumel, one of the most popular destinations available on Expedia(R),
enables us to provide our customers with the first-rate destination
activities that Expedia is known for,” said Jamie McDonald, vice
president, destination services, Expedia, Inc. “As we continue to expand
our presence both offline and online, travelers have an even greater
opportunity to experience how Expedia can add value and enhance the
experience of planning their whole trip.”
In addition, Expedia.com(R) now offers an enhanced selection of activity
options in the Mexican Caribbean through strategic alliances with Best Day
Tours in Cancun and the Riviera Maya as well as Fiesta Holidays in
Cozumel.
“Fiesta Holidays’ expertise in the market combined with Expedia, a brand
that’s trusted by travelers around the world, creates a compelling service
that benefits travelers interested in booking activities once they arrive
at their destination,” said Juan Carlos Cantarell, managing director,
Fiesta Holidays. “By working with Expedia, we will also expand the reach
of our inventory, which will now be available to the millions of travelers
shopping on Expedia.com every month.”
Today’s announcement demonstrates the continued momentum of the
Expedia!fun(TM) destination services offering, launched this month with 36
kiosks throughout the Hawaiian islands. Travelers can book tours and
excursions with a brand they know and trust, choosing from one of the
industry’s broadest selections of destination activities. Additionally,
hotels that host an Expedia!fun(TM) kiosk benefit from the ability to
provide their guests with complementary travel services that drive added
revenue for their property.
