Steven Phillips, General Manager of Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara and Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort, both on Sir Bani Yas Island, said, “This unique natural location was always one-of-its-kind in the Arabian Gulf, due to its geographical location and rich history.

“With the latest resort addition, the island is now becoming a destination within the destination of Abu Dhabi on an Emirate scale and within the UAE on a national scale.

“We are confident that the Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort will maintain Sir Bani Yas Island’s position as a five-star destination for adventure as well as beach front seclusion, and look forward to welcoming our first guests from July 2013 onwards.” Phillips added.

Guests can dine at a selection of six restaurants including the Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort, Olio, the tri-sectioned delectable Italian restaurant, offering all day dining, a lounge and a bar; the signature seafood restaurant, Samak, and the beachside free standing Amwaj tapas restaurant launched earlier this year.

The Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort is managed by Thai hospitality group Anantara, which also manages the only resort currently present on Sir Bani Yas Island, Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara. The opening is the first of two new developments planned for the expansion of Sir Bani Yas Island, with the Anantara Al Sahel Villa Resort slated to open at the end of 2013.

The Villas have been thoughtfully developed with consideration and respect to nature and the environment, using design principles that combine best practice with maximum efficiencies and minimal environmental impact.
