Carlson Wagonlit wins UKBA contract

Business travel specialist Carlson Wagonlit Travel has been selected by the UK Border Agency (UKBA) to manage the contract booking flights for people ordered to be removed from the UK.

These include, but are not exclusive to, those whose applications for asylum have failed.

The group’s main task during the tenure of the contract will be to book space on scheduled and chartered flights for removals.

The UKBA has not published the contract’s financial value, but has previously said it had made the award based half on price and then by 20 per cent each for the management services response and travel services response offered and 5 per cent for non-price financial issues and legal and commercial grounds.

It made use of an electronic auction to award the contract.
