World Travel Awards celebrates in Kenya
Tourism insiders at the annual World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony are celebrating in Kenya this evening after the winners were revealed at the Safari Park Hotel & Casino in Nairobi. Hundreds of travel leaders from across the continent were in attendance, as the best travel, tourism and hospitality organisations were recognised for their outstanding achievements.

Leading travel brands from across the continent are set to complete in the first World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony later today, as Kenya steps up to host the event for the first time. The event will be staged at the world-renowned Safari Park Hotel & Casino and will acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the leading travel brands and products in the African hospitality industry.
Banyan Tree recognised by World Travel Awards
Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has had two of its resorts recognised at the recent World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2013. Banyan Tree Bangkok and Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos, were honoured at the ceremony, which took place at Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa in Dubai.
Accessible and responsible travel fourth day focus at WTM
Travel businesses failing to take into account the disabled market are missing out on up to £80 billion of potential spend. The headline figure was discussed at the fourth and final round table conversation which was organised by The Travel Tech Show at WTM and Amadeus and focused on disabled and responsible travel.

Malaysia Airlines takes top World Travel Awards title
Malaysia Airlines has been voted ‘Asia’s Leading Airline’ at the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony, beating 11 other big name full service carriers. On hand to receive the honour at the event was Malaysia Airlines’ director of customer services, Dato’ Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani, along with four uniformed staff.
