Swiss hotel management company Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will rebrand and manage a luxury villa and suite resort in Hua Hin, Thailand. The new property is to be named the Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin.

Dusit International has signed a management agreement with Phuket-based property developer Layana Development to operate the dusitD2 Phuket Aria hotel in Surin Beach. Located on the west coast of Phuket between Bang Tao and Kamala Beaches, and just 30 minutes by car from Phuket International Airport, Surin Beach is dubbed ‘Millionaire’s Row’ due to its cluster of high-end resorts and residences.

Thailand rocked by tourism resort explosions
Thailand has been struck by a series of coordinated explosions targeting tourist towns across the country. As many as four people are believed to have died during the attacks, with many more injured. The tourism hotspot of Hua Hin has been worst affected, with four explosions in the past 24 hours.

Qatar Airways to offer Chang Mai, Thailand, flights from December
Qatar Airways has announced that it will expand its network to Chiang Mai in Thailand from December 16th. The airline will fly to Chiang Mai five times a week via Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar, with an A330-200. The largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand, Chiang Mai will be the fourth city in the Asian country to be served by Qatar Airways, which currently flies to Bangkok and Phuket, and will commence flights to Krabi on December 6th.
