TAM Airlines to join oneworld in March
LAN Colombia formally joined oneworld on Tuesday, the first of the merged LATAM airlines to join the alliance. TAM Airlines, another member of LATAM Airlines Group, will become a member in March.
TAM Airlines extends mobile technology
TAM Airlines has extended its mobile check-in service to passengers travelling from São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport to European destinations, including London Heathrow. The service, previously only available from Europe to Brazil, guarantees a fast and safe boarding experience and in addition it avoids the use of paper boarding passes, which helps contribute to the airline’s commitment to sustainable practices. The service is available for both internet-enabled phones and tablets.
JetBlue inks codeshare deal with TAM Airlines
JetBlue Airways and TAM Airlines, the largest airline in Brazil, have announced a new interline partnership to connect travellers to Brazil and beyond via New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Orlando International Airport.
LAN-TAM merger clears Brazilian administrative hurdle
The proposed merger of Chilean airline to Brazilian rival TAM Linhas Aereas has cleared its next administrative hurdle, with the antitrust unit of Brazil’s finance ministry granting its approval earlier. The body said it believed the deal would not harm competition in the country’s civil aviation market.
TAM increases US flights
TAM will operate a new daily flight (round-trip) between Orlando and São Paulo (Brazil) as of August 2nd, doubling the frequency on the route. The aim of the new flight is to meet the high and rising demand of passengers between both cities. Currently, TAM is the only carrier to fly non-stop and daily between Orlando and Brazil.
