Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group marked a key development in its expansion of the OZO brand in Sri Lanka with a ‘ground breaking’ ceremony to mark the start of construction at the project site of OZO Kandy, the second OZO project underway in Sri Lanka. The project is a joint venture between Sino Lanka Hotels Holdings, headed by Bob Kundanmal and The Kandy Hotels Co - owning company of the Queen’s Hotel and Hotel Suisse, headed by Sanjeev Gardiner.

ONYX Hospitality Group, the Thailand-based hotel management company, has signed management agreements with Sino Lanka Hotels for the development of two properties in the key Sri Lankan cities of Colombo and Galle. “Sri Lanka is one of the most vibrant destinations in the Asia Pacific and one that is experiencing dynamic growth in tourism,” said Peter Henley, ONYX Hospitality Group president.

ONYX Hospitality Group has been appointed by Apna Punjab Resorts to operate a 127-suite hotel in Ludhiana, the business capital of the Punjab, under its cornerstone mid to upscale Amari brand. The hotel, expected to open in the second half of 2012, will be known as Amari Ludhiana.

Opening its doors in early 2012, Oriental Residence Bangkok will set new standards for luxury residences offering contemporary interiors, bespoke amenities and exceptional, personalised services. The property is managed by ONYX Hospitality Group, whose management portfolio includes the hotel group Amari, amongst other brands.

ONYX Hospitality Group has been appointed by Methodist Centre Limited to manage the Wesley in the Admiralty district of Hong Kong from February 1st 2012. The 250-room property is strategically located on Hennessy Road, a prime business and commercial area on Hong Kong Island, just minutes’ walk from Pacific Place.
