Minor Hotels will open three new-build hotels in Qatar in spring 2018 under its Tivoli and Oaks brands. The three properties are owned by Katara Hospitality, a globally recognised hospitality owner, developer and operator.

Swiss-Belhotel International is planning further expansion in Egypt with the signing of Swiss-Belresort Marseilia Beach 4 on the country’s stunning north coast. Hyatt plans to double brand presence in Middle East
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is planning to expand Hyatt’s brand footprint in the Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council with the signing of management agreements by a Hyatt affiliate for 14 Hyatt-branded hotels. The new hotels will operate across the Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Place, and HYATT house brands.

DusitPrincess ACES Dubai set for United Arab Emirates opening
Dusit Hotels & Resorts recently signed a management agreement with ACES Property Development to operate DusitPrincess ACES Dubai, a new hotel apartment project within Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. This will be Dusit Hotels and Resorts’ sixth property in the Middle East.
Ascott signs two serviced apartment deals in Saudi Arabia
The Ascott has continued its strong growth in the Middle East by inking contracts to manage its first two serviced residences in Al Khobar, one of the main metropolitan cities in Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich Eastern Province. The 172-unit Ascott Corniche Al Khobar and 133-unit Somerset Downtown Al Khobar are slated to open in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Minor Hotel Group reveals two new United Arab Emirates properties
Minor Hotel Group has announced the addition of two new properties to its pipeline in the United Arab Emirates. Anantara Jebel Dhanna and AVANI Jebel Dhanna in Abu Dhabi will soon begin development and both are scheduled to open in 2018. The developer of these two new properties is Dhabi Contracting LLC and Aecom has been appointed as the lead architecture and interior design consultant for the project.
Hyatt Hotels expands presence in Jordan with Ayla deal
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into an agreement with Ayla Oasis Development Company for a 286-room Hyatt Regency hotel in Aqaba, Jordan. Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla will be the first hotel to open within the prestigious Ayla development, a master-planned, multiphase development on the northern shores of Aqaba.
Oberoi Group signs on for two new Doha properties
The Oberoi Group has entered into management contracts for two new luxury properties in Qatar. The first will be a 250 key luxury hotel in the West Bay area of Doha, while the second, 148 key hotel, will be a luxury serviced apartment building located in Lusail, Doha. Planning of both the projects is well under way and construction will commence early next year with completion of both projects in mid-2018.
