United Airlines and Continental Airlines sign new distribution agreement
United Continental Holdings (NYSE: UAL) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiaries United Airlines and Continental Airlines signed a new multi-year agreement with Travelocity that enables customers to continue to purchase tickets through Travelocity’s online booking sites, including Travelocity.com, Travelocity Business, Travelocity Partner Network and Travelocity.ca.
United Airlines Begins Service to Hilo, Hawaii
United Airlines has launched a new daily nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport and Hilo, Hawaii. In addition, United will begin once-weekly nonstop service to Hilo from its San Francisco hub.
Continental links up with LOT Polish Airlines
Continental Airlines has signed a codeshare agreement with Lot Polish Airlines designed to improve services between select destinations in the United States and Europe. Continental Airlines launches Turks and Caicos service
Continental Airlines has inaugurated non-stop flights between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Initially the flights will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, converting to daily service on March 6th, 2011.

Continental Airlines has introduced FareLock, an option that offers customers the opportunity to hold reservations and lock-in ticket prices for 72 hours or seven days with no commitment to purchase a ticket. The new feature, offered for a fee on certain domestic and international itineraries, gives customers additional flexibility to plan their travels and avoid the risk of price increases or sold-out flights.
