WAYN is considered the best in the business by World Travel Awards

WAYN has taken the title of World’s Leading Travel Social Network at the World Travel Awards 2012, which has been heralded as “the Oscar’s of the travel industry” by the Wall Street Journal.

The awards were held in New Delhi earlier, with WAYN nominated alongside Couchsurfing, Dopplr, Gogobot, TripIt, Tripping, Trippy, tripwolf and VirtualTourist.

The World Travel Awards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognise excellence in the global travel and tourism industry.

Now celebrating its 19th anniversary, it is regarded as the very highest achievement a travel product can receive.

The awards are voted for by professionals working within travel and tourism – senior executives, travel buyers, tour operators and travel agents.

Since 2009, voting has also been opened to the public to reflect the growing role that WTA plays in influencing how people make their travel decisions.
