Turkish Airlines’ net profit for the year 2010 - 191 million USD

Turkish Airlines has increased its capacity inline with its growth strategy for 2010 and years ahead thus secured passenger growth. In 2010 Available Seat Kilometer (ASK) increased by 15 percent and Revenue Passenger Kilometer (RPK) increased by 20 percent.

The number of passengers increased by 16 percent to 29 million, cargo and mail carried increased by 32 percent to 314 thousands. As a result, passenger load factor increased by 2.8 points from the previous year to 73.7 percent.

Sales revenue increased by 23 percent to 5.6 Billion$. Approximately 81 percent of our scheduled service revenue was obtained from international lines and 19 percent was from domestic lines.

According to the reported 2010 financial statements Turkish Airlines’ operating profit and net profit stood at 307 Million$. and 191 Million$ respectively.

Turkish Airlines being an important player in the aviation sector, has increased its capacity with the wide-body aircraft which began to join the fleet in the last quarter of 2010. It is expected to reach targeted number of passenger and unit revenue with the new Business Class concept “Comfort Class” product in the wide-body aircraft and expanding its network by openning new routes.
