Stuttgart flirting with the American market

The ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart (ICS) is thus now turning its focus to the US market and will be appearing at IMEX America from 11 to 13 October 2011. This trade fair will turn the spotlight on the international congress, event and conference industry, in particular in the US, to which approximately 1,300 exhibitors, over 2,000 hosted buyers and numerous event planners are expected.

In association with the “Seven Centers of Germany”, a cooperation of seven of the largest German congress centres with direct connections to a trade fair site, the ICS will be promoting Stuttgart as a congress location at the Germany stand at the IMEX America event. “IMEX provides us with a superb opportunity to expand our presence on the American market and to showcase the advantages of the ICS to an international public,” explains Stefan Lohnert, Head of Guest Events at Messe Stuttgart. “Above all, with our high environmental standards, the accessible location and the direct flight connections between Stuttgart Airport and the USA, we are more than able to hold our own against the competition.“

IMEX has its roots in Frankfurt am Main where, over the past nine years, it has developed to become the world’s largest trade fair for the congress and meeting industry. In 2011, the trade fair will be making its debut in the USA - in the Las Vegas Sands Expo Convention Center. “All eyes will be on the first IMEX America and it is thus a superb opportunity for our team, the ICS and the congress location of Stuttgart to really show the world what we have to offer, “concludes Lohnert.

IMEX America will be held in Las Vegas/ USA from 11 to 13 October 2011. The ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart will be present at the German stand with the SevenCenters of Germany (stand number 418/3).
