Royal couple begin secret honeymoon

Clarence House has confirmed Prince William and his new wife Catherine have begun their honeymoon, but is remaining tight lipped on the destination.

The Duke of Cambridge had returned to his job as an RAF rescue helicopter pilot following a long weekend break after the April 29th wedding.

He has now taken a fortnight’s leave to be with his new wife.

Speculation is rife as to the destination, with everything from Africa, the Caribbean and Australia mooted as a possibility.

Prince William made his marriage proposal in Kenya, leading many to suggest this as a possible destination.

The length of the honeymoon has also been kept secret.

“We are not confirming, and we are not commenting, on speculation on where they may be going on their private honeymoon, we are just confirming that they have gone,” a spokesman told the BBC.

“The couple have asked that their privacy be respected during their honeymoon.”

The couple spent their first weekend of married life at an undisclosed UK location, before William returned to work at Anglesey.

Later this year the couple will visit Canada and the United States on their first official tour.
