Regency Travel & Tours reports significant growth

Regency Travel & Tours retained the coveted title of “World’s Leading Travel Agency” for the eighth consecutive year at the 2014 Awards Ceremony organized by World Travel Awards in Anguilla-Caribbean Sea at Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa.

The victory mirrors the outstanding reputation Regency Travel & Tours has built during its incredible journey of development. Notably, the winners are selected after a voting process over a period of one year.

Tareq Abdullatif Taha, CEO of Regency Travel & Tours, stated that winning this trophy for the eighth consecutive year reflects the outstanding reputation Regency has achieved, both locally and on the global stage.

“It also reflects the trust customers have placed in Regency’s high standard of service over the years. This recognition also reflects the 30% growth the company has achieved over last year.” Added Tareq.

Tareq explained that Regency has strived to enhance service standards, offering the customers value through the right mix of technology solutions and high standard of infrastructure, in addition to the qualified human capital. He drew attention Regency’s phenomenal growth across 45 branches, with 450 highly qualified staff.

Tareq expressed his gratitude representing the State of Qatar in such globally recognized travel & tourism events, especially the WTA, which recorded huge attendance from all major travel & tourism related organizations. Retaining this global award is another feather in the cap of the State of Qatar, owing to the enlightened vision of His Highness The Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, and His Highness the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Tareq stated that within the fast developing economy and positive changes that the country has witnessed across all sectors, Regency Travel & Tours offers exceptional and unique services to their clients; the latest being the addition of a Luxury Lounge to serve customers looking for high end and luxurious travel products around the world. Opening shortly, the Luxury Lounge is located at Regency Travel & Tours head office at Suhaim Bin Hamad Street, in Al Sadd area of Doha.

Tareq also stated that Middle East region will witness continuous positive growth in air traffic, based on a study which forecasted trends of global travel industry until year 2025. He also emphasized the importance of the gulf region as an upcoming major hub for the global travel industry.

Tareq forecast an increase in air traffic of 7.1% in the Middle East by 2015, compared 5.3% for the same period the previous year. For the period 2016 to 2025, the growth stands at 5.2% for Middle East region and 4.4% globally.

Tareq accredited this substantial regional growth to the geographical location, central to the three major markets – Russia, Eastern Europe and India. Adding to that, the dynamic investment environment prevalent in the region, which in turn enhances the growth in the tourism sector; especially in UAE and Qatar, which account for 50% of the total visitor count.

Tareq stated that Qatar Airways has successfully capitalized in the strategic location of the region, and managed to gain market share of travel originating from Asia and heading to Africa and Europe; which has contributed to the tourism sector and growth in business investments. The newly opened Hamad International Airport, through its unique design and efficiency has contributed to Qatar’s position in the global travel market.

Tareq dedicated this victory to the people of Qatar, to his loyal customers and to his employees who contributed in this major win through hard and professional work selling travel products.

CusinArt Golf Resort & Spa welcomed 300 international hospitality industry leaders to Sunshine Island to witness the Qatar based travel management company take the title for the eighth consecutive year.

Other winners on the night from Qatar included Katara Hospitality who won the title of World’s Leading Hospitality Company. Etihad Airways won World’s Leading Airline and Worlds Leading First Class Airline. Emirates Airlines was named World’s Leading Airport First Class Lounge at the Terminal 3 Dubai Airport.

Also celebrating was Frasers Hospitality, which took the title of World’s Leading Service Apartment Brand, while Ecuador was recognized by World Travel Awards voters as the World’s Leading Green Destination, and Rovia took the title of World’s Leading Online Travel Agency.
