As the Director of newly launched hotel deal website Roomguide.co.uk , Pete Halsey brings his extensive knowledge and experience to the online travel company, having worked for some of the most successful hotel and catering companies in the U.K. in a career that spans 14 years. His newest venture, Roomguide.co.uk is set to challenge other travel websites with its focus on simplicity and value, enabling consumers to focus solely on meeting their accommodation needs.
Having secured a Business and Finance degree from Hatfield College and Post Graduate Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma in 1995, Pete began his career in the travel industry in 1996 as a Senior Marketing Analyst at Granada Hospitality. He then took over as Sales and Marketing Director for Compass Group U.K. & Ireland in 2000.
In 2002 Pete took on the role of Marketing Director for the newly formed Travelodge Hotels Ltd before progressing to Commercial Director the following year.
During his time at Travelodge he successfully built and opened over 100 hotels, including the group’s first hotels in Spain (Barcelona and Madrid) and sold the first Master Franchise Agreement in Ireland, in addition to earning several industry awards including: Hotel Brand of the Year and Most improved Brand of the Year (BDRC, 2001) and Best Hotel website and Best Hospitality website (Caterer, 2002).
In 2009 Pete set up the Roomguide.co.uk website, offering a wealth of properties at the click of a button, leaving customers free to spend more time making the most of their getaway.

The website was built by New Edge Media, the website design company co-owned by Pete with a strong focus on customer needs informing every stage of its development. Commenting on the launch, Pete said, “Many of the travel search websites that are in operation currently can be difficult to navigate. Consumers can be confused by the process of researching and booking a hotel and all too easily get sidetracked with flights, car hire and travel insurance.
