Sandals and Beaches Resorts has announced the appointment of Kerrie-Anne Ford as the new weddings supervisor for the UK and Europe.

Ford has been working for the Caribbean resort company for over five years, most recently holding the demanding role of concierge executive. 

In her new role Ford will be responsible for the growth of Sandals and Beaches Resorts’ ‘WeddingMoons’, promoting the Sandals Weddings by Martha Stewart brand and themes.

She will act as the point of contact for all prospective and confirmed UK brides and grooms, advising and assisting them on everything from selecting the perfect wedding setting, to organising wedding documentation.

She will also attend wedding shows and exhibitions, and host wedding FAM trips for travel agents and tour operators in order to increase brand exposure and improve product knowledge.

Ford said of her new role: “I am looking forward to the challenges that the sale of destination weddings brings, and to finding innovative and exciting ways to promote the Sandals Product, which I am personally very proud to represent.

“I am also looking forward to liaising directly with wedding couples, ensuring that they receive a high standard of customer care and can truly treasure their special day.”

Prior to being promoted, Ford single-handedly created and developed the concierge role at Sandals Resorts, creating a one-stop shop in the UK for both direct and trade clients, offering a consultative service to all and generating revenue in all additional add-on services, while gaining a wealth of all round knowledge of the Sandals Brand including wedding and honeymoon services.

“She will be a real asset later this year as we develop our wedding product further, to allow clients to customise the wedding themes to their own personal preferences.”

Ford will be in place ahead of the World Travel Awards The Caribbean & the Americas Gala Ceremony, which will be hosted by Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort & Private Island on October 19th 2011.

The event is set to attract the top decision-makers and thought-leaders from across the Caribbean and North, South and Central America as they compete for the most influential accolades in travel.
