The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai has been awarded the prestigious global honour of World’s Leading New Hotel at the 2013 World Travel Awards.

The ceremony was held in La Cigale Hotel in Qatar, where the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai faced tough competition in a coveted category with seven other elite hotels from New York to Australia to Germany.

The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai emerged victorious as World’s Leading New Hotel after an incredible performance in its first year of opening.

Owned by Emirates and managed by Marriott International, the stunning JW Marriott Marquis Dubai has won a total of 14 awards this year alone for a myriad of achievements from hotel construction and design, to outstanding MICE facilities, to marketing and public relations excellence.

The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai caters to the luxury business traveller, targeting the lucrative and increasingly important MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) market in the Middle East.

The industry’s leading luminaries and the international media were present at the gala which is often hailed as the ‘Oscars of the travel industry’.

The World Travel Awards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge and recognise excellence in the global travel and tourism industry.

Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, it is regarded as an outstanding achievement that celebrates brands that push the boundaries of industry excellence in product and service.

“We are truly delighted to receive the honour of World’s Leading New Hotel,” said Rupprecht Queitsch, general manager.

“In conjunction with Dubai’s recent Expo 2020 win, this award further establishes the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai on the global conference market landscape.

“The hotel can cater to groups, meetings and conventions of up to 1,000 people and this is ideal for Dubai as we the region continues to grow at a rapid pace.”
