Jamaica has once again triumphed at the World Travel Awards by winning a total of five awards, including the title of World’s Leading Wedding Destination.

For the ninth consecutive year in succession Jamaica was also recognised as the World’s Leading Cruise Destination.

The awards were announced at the World Travel Awards Grand Final Gala Ceremony at CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa in Anguilla.

A further two awards recognised two of Jamaica’s premier resorts: Fleming Villa at GoldenEye Resort was named the World’s Leading Villa and Round Hill Hotel & Villas collected the award for the World’s Leading Villa Resort.

Elizabeth Fox, regional director UK/Northern Europe for the Jamaica Tourist Board, said: “The World Travel Awards is both prestigious and sought after, so we are extremely proud of Jamaica’s outstanding achievements at this year’s Gala Ceremony.

“These awards reflect the extensive offering that Jamaica has to offer travellers in search of every type of holiday, from honeymoons to cruises to luxury getaways.

“Additionally, with the opening of the brand new Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall this month, we will offer even more choices to those travellers in search of a luxury holiday.”
