The Great Outdoors

The stunning 18 hole Bainbridge Course (opened Autumn 2009) was designed by the distinguished English architect Tom Mackenzie (who has advised on 27 of Golf World Magazine’s Top 50 UK Courses). The 72 par course follows a majestic route over rolling tree-lined landscape and owes much to the traditional values designer Tom MacKenzie brings to his task.

“I like to create courses that sit comfortably in their setting offering a wealth of shot making permutations particularly around the greens.” Tom MacKenzie.

The challenging course is a possible contender for the European Tour and is getting high praise from all who play it.  A modern clubhouse built alongside the Grade II 18th century hall with a contemporary bar and restaurant overlooking the course is the perfect place for a well deserved post match drink.

The choices of outdoor activities at Heythrop Park Resort are endless and include carp fishing in the lake, discovering the beautiful county by bike or foot, bowls on the sunken bowling green, tennis and croquet. For those looking to soothe tired limbs and relax in style the luxury Health Club and Spa boasts a 20m swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and treatment rooms. La Creche by Petit Enfant is open from 08.00am to 21.00pm enabling adults some well deserved down time.

Food lovers will not be disappointed. A selection of four individual restaurants provides something suitable for every occasion, whether a casual dinner, or a birthday treat. Windows Brasserie with its relaxed ambience offers wholesome favourites throughout the day whilst The Clubhouse welcomes those looking for a relaxed snack. The more formal Oxford Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a 3 course dinner and for those looking to soak up the beauty of the Italian gardens the Terrace Restaurant is a must.

“The Heythrop team are all really looking forward to the imminent opening of the Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park - Oxford. Heythrop Park Resort is going to be one of the largest and most exciting hotel and golf developments in the UK combining the glamour of a modern city hotel with the elegance of a country retreat. Heythrop Park Resort will offer guests the best of both worlds”.  John Angus, Resort Director.
