InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment, a first for the brand in London’s Embankment.

The hotel is due to open in the spring of 2015.

Operating under a franchise agreement with Cannon Corporate UK, the upscale hotel is a new build property featuring in excess of 130 guest rooms and a restaurant overlooking the River Thames.

Robert Shepherd, chief development officer, IHG said: “It’s fantastic to be signing another great upscale hotel in this thriving part of London less than a year after IHG opened InterContinental London Westminster.

Albert Embankment is undergoing significant regeneration and due to its close proximity to Lambeth Palace, the Houses of Parliament and the corporate centres of Waterloo and Westminster, the Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment is set to become a hub for meetings, conferences and events in London.
