Drivalia, the independent car rental company based at Alicante Airport, released one hundred brand new Peugeot 208s into its fleet.  The cars were delivered to the company’s depot on the outskirts of the airport last Thursday: they were registered on Friday and available for hire from Saturday. 

Fernando Piles, Drivalia’s Commercial Manager, said: “We need these vehicles for the busy summer period. Although this is only our second summer season of operation, thanks to the excellent support of our tour operator partners and the rapidly growing number of direct customers, already we have many dates that are fully booked. By bringing our fleet to 963 vehicles obviously we will be able to meet more of the demand.” 

The Peugeot supermini was launched earlier this year to a favourable response from the motoring press. Top Gear said of the HDi diesel powered 208: “[It] is far, far better than the 207 it replaces…. Quality is their new watchword…... No more cluttered dash - instead, the Pug has an upmarket feel to it.” 

Piles explained: “It is important for Drivalia to have new models like this in our fleet. We are committed to supplying our customers with vehicles no more than 2 years old so there will be more such purchases.”  For more information contact Drivalia Car Rental at drivalia.com.
