Davies to head Virgin Atlantic UK sales

Virgin Atlantic is pleased to announce that Scott Davies will be joining the airline as general manager UK Sales from March 04th 2013.

In his new role at Virgin Atlantic, Scott will report in to Maria Sebastian, director of worldwide sales, and will be responsible for the airline’s UK sales and revenue performance.

Commenting on his appointment, Maria Sebastian said: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Scott to this very important role.

“He has a wealth of industry experience and a proven track record of leading sales teams to deliver revenue across all channels.

“He will be a crucial part of our growth ambitions in the coming months and years, particularly as we continue to grow our network through the launch of our domestic flying programme.”

Scott joins Virgin Atlantic with a wealth of commercial experience in the travel and tourism industry, most recently with Amadeus UK where he was commercial director and responsible for new sales, account management and marketing functions.

Davies said: “I am thrilled to be joining the Virgin Atlantic team at such an exciting time in its development with the launch of its domestic flying programme and the ground breaking joint venture with Delta.

“I consider this to be one of the very best roles in the UK travel industry and I look forward to building on Virgin Atlantic’s already strong trade, corporate and industry body relationships to drive profitable growth.”

Previous to this Scott spent more than a decade in key sales roles at British Airways, progressing through from global account manager to senior manager - corporate sales – and culminating in the position of head of TMC sales where he managed the airline’s direct and indirect revenue and had ownership of the airline’s sales strategy and business development through all business travel agents.
