Green Globe member the Darmstadtium can look back to a successful year 2012. The momentum gained last year has been carried into the New Year, and the first quarter of 2013 shows a great surplus in sales.

The current ranking of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) confirms this success: Darmstadt, the ‘City of Science’, comes in ninth as a destination for international meetings and events. Darmstadt secured its spot in the Top 10 for international conventions in Germany, a list that includes cities such as Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Cologne and Leipzig.

At a European level, Darmstadt is positioned among the Top 100, offering ideal conditions: For the ninth consecutive year, Germany has been ranked the leading conference location for international associations, and globally, it takes the second spot behind the United States. For the Darmstadt Congress Center – now in its fifth year after opening – these results will bring more success internationally.

PLANNED FOR LATE 2014: CONGRESS HALL “KLEINER SAAL”
To provide organizers with greater capacities, the darmstadtium will be adding another congress hall, starting in late 2014. Covering 700 square meters of fixed rows, the new hall will accommodate up to 400 delegates. The new congress hall will have its own foyer space on two levels, its own cloakroom and a separate entrance, creating plenty of additional space for conventions, conferences and presentations.
