Pegasus’ Asian Expansion

Dallas based Pegasus Solutions, which provides an Internet-based hotel reservation system, has been making strong inroads into the growing Asian online travel marketplace with recent deals with Singapore-based itsfair.com and Malaysian online travel provider Asiatravelmart.com, for whom they are providing hotel reservations access.
As a result of using Pegasus’ online booking engine and hotel content database, Asiatravelmart.com’s members will be able to check room availability and can make real-time reservations directly from within each participating hotel’s CRS. Consumers will receive a unique confirmation number that the hotel CRSs generate for each booking. The consumers can then use the confirmation number to make any changes to their reservation either online or directly with the hotel company’s voice reservation. Singapore-based itsfair.com is tapping Pegasus for real-time online hotel booking capabilities. Consumers visiting the “Hotel Choice” and “Hotel Clearing House” sections of the site will ultimately have a choice of more than 37,000 hotels to select from through Pegasus. Itsfair.com is a travel Web site managed by EZasia.com Private Limited. Itsfair.com, which launched in May, offers a “facilitation” system that helps travellers find and book travel accommodations quickly and cheaply. Itsfair.com`s “Hotel Choice” section is now ‘Powered by Pegasus’ and will be further enhanced within the next couple of months, using a patent-pending e-market clearing system.
Itsfair.com provides real-time booking with immediate confirmation for hotel rooms in up to three destinations within one credit card-guaranteed transaction. Itsfair.com also provides online video tours of many of the participating hotels. The site is the brainchild of Hua Hien Minh, CEO of EZasia.com Pte Ltd. “Forging an alliance with Pegasus definitely gives our site an added edge,” Hua said. According to Hua, the site has drawn favourable response from hotels in the region. “We are able to list their discount and excess capacity rooms for anonymous clearance over the Internet,” Hua says. Itsfair.com will initially concentrate on offering discounted rates for hotels in the Asia-Pacific region, targeting U.S. and Asian travellers. Asia is becoming an increasingly important market for Pegasus Solutions. Other Asian sites it powers include Seoul, Korea-based GL Network International and Tokyo-based Recruit Isize Travel Company, Ltd. Additionally, Pegasus recently announced an agreement with Tokyo-based eRyokan Service K.K. (www.eryokan.co.jp) to bring traditional Japanese inns, known as Ryokans to the Internet. The company has offices in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Thailand.
