Disney revamps portal Go.com

15th Sep 2000

Disney Internet Group (DIG: news, msgs) is preparing a new version of its Go.com Web site, whose theme is “Your Guide to a Better Time.” On a test page, beta.go.com, the company is putting finishing touches on the site, which will offer more content and recommendations than search results. Disney Internet Group chairman Steve Bornstein said the new Go.com will focus on entertainment and lifestyle information, the Los Angeles Times reported, and feature links to Disney’s network of Web sites and television shows. “There’s no question that on-air content drives online usage,” Steve Wadsworth, president of Disney’s Internet Group, told the Times. The site will have a soft launch starting Friday, with a complete re-launch coming next month.
