Sabre Improves Access to Lower Fares With Bargain Finder Plus

Sabre(R) (NYSE: TSG) today announced the latest enhancements to Bargain Finder Plus, the company’s air pricing feature that offers Sabre Connected travel agents improved access to lower fares at no additional charge.

Travel agents now have more options to choose from when searching for lower fares and can customize the low-fare search to meet their customers’ needs. This improved feature gives Sabre subscribers the leading edge tool for low-fare searches, as other computer reservations systems either charge a fee or have fewer fare components to from which to choose.

More Fare Options Than Ever Before

The new enhancement evaluates more than 1,000 different travel combinations with one easy entry by including up to 50,000 fare combinations. It also enables searches of up to 16 segments and eight fare components. This is especially beneficial in markets such as Latin America where customers frequently book multi-segment itineraries.

“Bargain Finder Plus is a tremendous timesaver for our agents because it reduces the time spent shopping different schedules for a price-conscious traveler,” said Mary Gifford with Brownell Travel in Birmingham, Alabama. “At the stroke of a key, we have access to nine schedules at once, so we can help clients identify ways of saving potentially hundreds of dollars by adjusting their flight time or changing which airport they fly into.”

Time, Cost Savings for Travel Agents

Bargain Finder Plus is easy-to-use and requires little or no agent training. It allows agents to find low cost fares they may not ordinarily find themselves, while increasing customer productivity and customer service efforts. The program reduces manual fare search keystrokes by at least 60 percent.

“Travel agents must be able to meet the needs of their customers quickly and accurately,” said Sam Gilliland, senior vice president and general manager of product marketing for Sabre. “We are pleased to offer a product that functions in such a flexible manner as Bargain Finder Plus. Our Sabre Connected travel agents can save time and money for themselves, and their customers.”
