Gulf Air Renews Contract for Sabre(R) Passenger Reservation System

Sabre Holdings Corporation (NYSE: TSG) today announced that Gulf Air has agreed to use Sabre(R) Passenger Reservation System for an additional five years. The agreement enables Gulf Air, with the help of Sabre’s superior functionality, to maintain its competitive advantage of offering customers superior access to the data necessary to make the best purchasing decisions.

Since 1989, Gulf Air has used the Passenger Reservation System. As the most utilized airline reservations system in the world, Passenger Reservation System offers airlines a technological advantage in the areas of seat inventory control, electronic ticketing, code-share automation, connectivity to GDS systems and e-commerce, among others.


“Partnering with Sabre means that Gulf Air has the best technology solution available to secure its place in the future. With Sabre, Gulf Air has the system capabilities to offer the latest technology to our passengers,” said Ali Saleh Albloushi Gulf Air’s senior manager of reservations and yield optimization. “This agreement will enhance Gulf Air’s competitive advantage through a long term reduction in technology expenditures, an increase in revenues, and improved quality of service to our passengers.”


Experts in innovation, Sabre is currently working closely with Gulf Air to help manage their current desktop, data center and network systems. In addition to managing all aspects of Gulf Air’s information technology, Sabre is serving as lead consultant to develop strategic initiatives that will upgrade Gulf Air’s information systems and streamline operations to ultimately improve management’s decision making process.
