UNiREZ to Expand European Market Presence

UNiREZ, a fast growing hotel reservations company, is to expand its services in the European market.  The organisation currently has a strong presence in Italy, its Rome operation launched in 2001 and now has over 400 hotels, but the new expansion will cover the rest of Europe, as well as areas of Africa and the Middle East.

Following extensive research into GDS connectivity within Europe, UNiREZ has found that only 1 in 3 European hotels are currently linked to the GDS.  When compared to the corresponding figure in the USA, where two thirds of hotels utilise the GDS, there is clearly much room for growth within Europe.  Historically, it has been the city centre or business travel focused hotels that have reaped the greater rewards from the GDS.  However, with the increasingly important role of electronic distribution in generating hotel sales, GDS connectivity is quickly becoming a priority for smaller city centre hotels and resorts.

Chairman of the new European arm of UNiREZ, Peter Gould comments, “Our reservations services are truly comprehensive and are supported by the most sophisticated technology in the industry.  Our aim is clear: to generate extra business for our hotels.”

Offering reservation and technical services to the global hotel industry, UNiREZ launched in 1999 and is now the world’s third largest reservations company, representing over 3500 hotels in 30 countries.  The recent success of UNiREZ has been exceptional and can be attributed to the emphasis it has placed on customer care combined with the ability to deliver a level of bookings that supersedes the expectations of its member hotels.
