has announced an agreement with top Swiss tourism region Oberwallis, to provide international web marketing for the region`s major tourist destinations.

Oberwallis destinations, including Aletsch, Goms, Grächen, Leukerbad, Lötschberg, Rund um Visp, Saas Fee/Saastal and Zermatt, will unite through Tiscover`s portal solutions to create a stronger promotion for the region and extend its tourism base.

Tiscover will work with the region`s tourist authorities and towns to provide portals offering reservations with accommodation providers and comprehensive resort information, including details of attractions, last-minute travel opportunities, weather reports and live web-cam pictures.

Oberwallis will also take advantage of Tiscover`s state-of-the-art back-office OM (office management) solution, which automates tourism providers` entire reservations processes, resulting in dramatically reduced booking times.

Tiscover operates the world`s leading family of destination portals, with its sites in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and more recently Northern Italy attracting over 57 million visitors and generating 225 million page views last year. Regarded as one of the most advanced and integrated reservation-distribution solution for the tourism industry, Tiscover offers a powerful tool for destination marketing organisations (DMOs) and accommodation providers to market products and take bookings online, both through their own websites and across Tiscover`s international portals.

Aletsch is the first destination in Oberwallis to implement the Tiscover system. Its re-launched destination site www.aletsch.ch
now offers travel and tourism information, accommodation bookings and holiday extras such as bike rentals.
