NEC Plasma Screens at the Dorchester

NEC Plasma screens were chosen by The Dorchester, one of London’s most prestigious 5 star hotels, to provide a high-quality presentation solution as part of the recent installation of a state-of-the-art business and entertainment system within the hotel’s bedrooms and suites. The new, fully integrated digital interactive system was a key aspect of an extensive, multi-million pound refurbishment of the entire hotel. Developed by London-based company Neos Interactive, “NeosTV” incorporates entertainment, computing and Internet facilities to allow business travellers to replicate an office or home environment in their Dorchester rooms.
The Dorchester chose to install NEC PlasmaSync 42” plasma screens in 90 of its rooms to provide guests with an outstanding visual display for business and entertainment use. The NEC 42” model delivers the ultimate in picture quality, connectivity options and reliability with a stylish design. Combined with “NeosTV”, the plasma screens allow guests to access TV, Internet, business information, films, music, hotel products and customer service facilities, and provide a focal point for interaction between the hotel and its guests. The NEC screens, along with the other system hardware components, were integrated and installed by IT services company, Computacenter.
For business travellers, the solution enables a wealth of applications. For example, laptops can be connected via a VGA high-speed link at the desk, allowing business presentations to be made on the plasma screens. As well as offering superb image clarity, these are highly-featured for multimedia use and offer a digital zoom presentation tool and easy connectivity for PCs and video. It is designed to support future advancements, such as video conferencing.
For leisure, the Neos Interactive system also incorporates an extensive entertainment facility, and a range of options, including video-on-demand, music-on-demand, and a wide selection of TV channels, are available to view on the NEC plasma screens. With stereo surround sound via a Bose system, the NEC PlasmaSync 42” screens deliver an outstanding audio-visual experience to satisfy the needs of leisure and business travellers alike.
