Wyndham International has appointed Marina Mattera-MacDonald as vice president of sales, western region. In her new position, Mattera-MacDonald will oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for 35 Wyndham-branded properties in California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Washington.
“Marina brings extensive sales and marketing experience to her new post, as well as a thorough understanding of the Wyndham philosophy and brand,” said Jamie Walters, senior vice president of sales. “Her award-winning success at some of Wyndham`s premiere properties demonstrate the level of dedication that she will bring to this new position.”
Mattera-MacDonald joined Wyndham in 1984 as sales manager of the 760-room Wyndham Franklin Plaza in Philadelphia. Five years later she moved to Tampa, Fla. to serve as associate director of sales for the Wyndham Harbour Island. Over the next nine years, she held sales and marketing management positions at the former Wyndham Bristol in Washington, D.C. and again at Wyndham Harbour Island. Most recently, Mattera-MacDonald served as area director of sales and marketing for Wyndham hotels and resorts in Florida, Atlanta, Birmingham, Ala., and Nashville, Tenn.
Mattera-MacDonald`s 19-year tenure with Wyndham is highlighted with several awards including “Sales Manager of the Year” in 1988; “Director of Sales of the Year” in 1993, and the prestigious “President`s Award” in 1996, 1997, 1998, and 2001. In 2001 she was part of the team that earned the prestigious “Hotel of the Year 2001” award for the Wyndham Harbour Island.
