Fairfield Appoints Mary Mahoney

Fairfield Resorts, Inc., the largest vacation ownership company in the world serving more than 450,000 families, and a subsidiary of Cendant Corporation (NYSE: CD), announced today that Mary K. Mahoney has joined the company as senior vice president of member relations and customer support.

Mahoney, a 23-year hospitality industry veteran, served from 1998 until present as president and chief executive officer of Howard Johnson International, Inc., also a subsidiary of Cendant, where she led a successful reimaging program that helped restore the brand`s traditional competitive edge among mid-market hotel brands. The first woman to be named president of a major hotel brand, Mahoney was recognized by Lodging magazine as one of the top 75 executives in the hospitality industry in August 2000, by Travel Agent magazine as one of the “Most Powerful Women in Travel” for four years in a row, by BrandWeek magazine as one of the “Next Generation of Hot New Marketers” and by The Group Travel Leader magazine as “Group Travel Leader of the Year.”

“We are extremely pleased to bring Mary into such a critically important role for our organization, its employees and its growing family of members,” said Franz S. Hanning, president and CEO, Fairfield Resorts. “Mary`s record of success in the hospitality industry is extraordinary, and her past experience in leading one of the most highly recognized lodging brands will help Fairfield Resorts target and achieve the highest attainable levels of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.”

In her new role, Mahoney will assume direction of Fairfield`s member relations and customer support programs, and will design and implement new and innovative strategies to enhance member and customer satisfaction. Mahoney will also develop additional member and customer communication initiatives, as well as enhance policies and procedures to support Fairfield`s steadfast efforts in providing exceptional member and customer support services. She will report directly to Fairfield President and CEO Franz Hanning, and will serve on the company`s executive management committee.

“I`m excited to join an organization whose mission is to help families enrich their lives through the joy of vacationing,” Mahoney said. “Fairfield Resorts has built its success by providing a lifetime of outstanding vacation experiences for its members, and its long-standing dedication to exceptional service has helped produce the industry`s largest and most loyal owner base. I look forward to building upon these achievements as Fairfield continues to transform vacation ownership from a niche market to a mass market industry, and welcome the opportunity to now apply my skills, experience, and enthusiasm in this challenging new role.”
