BBG-BBGM Announces Promotions

Marie-Paule Petitjean has been named a partner of the New York office of Brennan Beer Gorman / Architects, LLP (BBG). The architecture firm also promoted Christian Joiris to Senior Associate and Stephen Luk to Associate. Brennan Beer Gorman Monk / Interiors (BBGM) promoted Paul Greenwood to Senior Associate, while Nadia Biski and Richard Tuck have been named Associates. BBG-BBGM Controller Arthur Ferragamo has been named a Senior Associate. In making the announcements, BBG-BBGM partner Louis Hedgecock commended each for their important contributions to the continued growth and success of the firms.

Marie-Paule Petitjean, Partner

Brennan Beer Gorman / Architects:

Since joining the firm in 1994, Ms. Petitjean has served as Project Director and Project Architect on a number of important hospitality projects, including the Hotel Sofitel New York, NY; Hotel Sofitel Lafayette Square, Washington D.C.; and The Conrad Hotel, Jakarta, Indonesia.  Prior to joining BBG, she worked at Architects Pacific and Hellmuth Obata Kassabaum in Hong Kong, where she worked, respectively, on The Peninsula Hotel in Bangkok and The Grand Hyatt in Jakarta. Ms. Petitjean holds an Ingenieur Civil Architect degree from the University of Liege, Belgium. She is a licensed architect in New York State and Belgium.


Christian Joiris, Senior Associate

Brennan Beer Gorman/Architects:
A talented architect and designer, Mr. Joiris has worked on a series of important projects during his tenure with BBG. He has acted as project architect on the residential tower Puri Matahari in Surabaya, Indonesia; Hartford Marriott Downtown in Hartford, CT; Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa, Groton, CT; and Jebel Ali Properties Master Plan, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Before joining BBG, Mr. Joiris spent several years with SLCE Architects in New York City working on several residential high-rise buildings. He has also worked for New York City’s Housing Authority Design Department. While in Brussels, Belgium, he worked with Touaide Engineer Group. His work has been exhibited and published by the City of Yokohama, Japan; Vasaterminalen, Stockholm, Sweden; and The Urban Center, New York, NY. He holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor of Arts from the Institute National of Arts and Architecture, Brussels, Belgium.


Stephen Luk, Associate

Since joining BBG in 1999, Mr. Luk has proven himself a resourceful architect and innovative designer. He has been a valuable member of the design team for a series of projects, including the renovation to New York’s landmark Starlight Roof at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel; Sofitel Lafayette Square, Washington, DC; and Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson, NJ. Mr. Luk’s professional experience also includes tenure with Skidmore Owings & Merrill, as well as McIntyre Partnership, Christopher Doyle Architects, and Bochsler & Partners, all in Melbourne. A native of Australia, Mr. Luk holds both a Bachelor of Planning and Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Melbourne. He also earned a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. Stephen is a registered architect in the State of Victoria, Australia.


Paul Greenwood, Senior Associate

Mr. Greenwood is one of the Managing Directors of BBGM’s Sydney office. He has focused his considerable design and management talents on hospitality projects, including the Swiss™tel the Stamford, Singapore; Inter-Continental Boston and several new projects in Australia. Prior to his tenure with BBGM, Paul worked in Hong Kong as a project manager/director for a number of significant retail and hospitality projects. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, with Honors, from Nottingham/Trent University, England.


Nadia Biski, Associate

Ms. Biski joined BBGM earlier this year and has quickly proven an important asset to the firm. She shares her leadership and design skills with clients and colleagues on projects like the renovations to the New York Marriott Marquis and new Inter-Continental Boston hotel projects. Prior to joining the firm, she worked with Hustvedt Cutler Architects and Envision Architects in the U.S., and with Folk Lichtman and Associates in Sydney. A licensed architect in New South Wales and a member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, Nadia earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Her work has appeared in a number of publications, including Vogue Living Australia, Australian House and Garden and The Sun Herald.


Richard Tuck, Associate

A gifted artist, Mr. Tuck creates all interior renderings used by the firm. Since joining BBGM in 1990, he has helped convey our design teams’ ideas and inspiration to clients and colleagues, helping to ensure successful projects. Richard has also worked with Ballard Corporation and SPGA Associates. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design.


Arthur Ferragamo, Senior Associate

Mr. Ferragamo joined the firm in 1996, bringing many years of professional experience in accounting and finance. Arthur is a graduate of Bentley College in Massachusetts.


Since the founding of BBG in 1984, and BBGM in 1987, the two firms have become internationally recognized as leaders in the design of hotels, office buildings and corporate interiors. The firms currently employ design professionals in offices in New York, Washington, DC, Beijing and Sydney.
