Douglas L. Patterson Named President And CEO Of Cendant Real Estate Division`s Welcome Wagon-Getko B

Cendant Corporation (NYSE:CD) today announced it has named Douglas L. Patterson as president and CEO of its Welcome Wagon-Getting to Know You (GETKO) subsidiary. He succeeds Joel Zychik who has left the Company to pursue other opportunities. Patterson, formerly executive vice president of Cendant Telecommunications and Call Centers, will report to Richard A. Smith, chairman and CEO of Cendant`s Real Estate Division.

``With ten years of experience at Cendant and its predecessor HFS, Doug Patterson clearly understands our business and will help to fully integrate Welcome Wagon-GETKO within the Company`s Real Estate Division. Doug`s technological savvy and operational expertise will prove to be tremendous assets as we execute our off-line-online real estate strategy,`` said Smith.

Among other achievements, Patterson led the establishment of a new multi-business call center in St. John, New Brunswick Canada that employs over 750. He recently concluded negotiations to open a second Canadian call center in Fredericton that will employ over 200 people by mid 2000. Patterson also forged an agreement with the Irish government to establish an 110,000 square foot, 1,000-position call center in Cork.


Patterson received a BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia and a MBA from Mercer University. He resides in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey with his wife and two children.


Guy Gray, senior vice president of Cendant Telecommunications, will assume Patterson`s responsibility for the Company`s Call Center Operations, which includes 50 call centers and approximately 15,000 employees. Gray will now report to Thomas D. Christopoul, who today was named executive vice president, Corporate Services. Christopoul will add this responsibility to his existing accountabilities of human resources, facilities and corporate real estate across Cendant.

During his three years at Cendant, Gray has helped to triple Preferred Alliance revenues associated with telecommunications programs. Additionally, he has lead the deployment of key technologies in the Call Center environment including GeoTel real time call routing and NICE automated call recording.


Gray received a BBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts and a MBA from the University of Georgia. He resides in Randolph, New Jersey with his wife Laura and three children.
