Radisson Hotels & Resorts Opens Its First Hotel In Brazil

Radisson Hotels & Resorts today announced the opening this week of its first hotel in Brazil - the Radisson Hotel Faria Lima. The 28-story, 220-room hotel, located in São Paolo, is being positioned as a key property for Radisson`s overall expansion plans into Latin America and the cornerstone of a recently signed alliance between Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Atlantica Hotels International. The deal, signed in June 2001, sets the wheels in motion for Radisson`s entry into Brazil, the eighth largest economy in the world, and accelerates the growth of the Carlson enterprise in Latin America.
“The alliance with Atlantica Hotels International holds many important opportunities for the Radisson brand, and the Radisson Hotel Faria Lima is just the beginning, ” said Jay Witzel, president and COO of Radisson Hotels & Resorts. “Through this partnership, we expect to add 10 hotels and resorts in Brazil in the next three years and add the Radisson name to the network of Carlson related hospitality, travel and marketing operations already in place in Latin America.”
