Reinhard Haubner - GM at Chateau Elan

Reinhard M. Haubner was named General Manager of Chateau Ì?lan Hotel & Spa, an 81 room boutique property sited above the famed “hairpin turn” at Sebring International Raceway.

The announcement came from Henk Evers, President & CEO of Chateau Élan Hotels & Resorts, Worldwide, based in Braselton (Atlanta), Georgia. “Having Reinhard as General Manager,” said Evers, “marks the return of one of our most talented associates after an absence of nearly four years. He served in several important capacities at our Chateau Élan Winery & Resort (Atlanta) property from 1992-1998 including Executive Chef at our Winery and was instrumental in the successful opening and operation of our European Spa mansion and 276 room Inn.”

Born in Nuremberg, Germany, Haubner began, at 16, a seven-year period of traditional European hospitality apprenticeship enriching his knowledge and skills primarily in the culinary arts and techniques at hotels in Munich and Bavaria. He also attended Professional Chef School in Rothenburg and graduated as a Certified Chef from Nuremberg Professional Chef School in Germany.

Upon coming to America, he served over the next four years as Chef Garde Manger at the Ritz Carlton in Atlanta and at La Cabriole in Chattanooga as Assistant Chef. Beginning in 1992 Haubner had a six year tenure at Chateau Élan Atlanta where he continued to expand and develop his culinary talents, managerial skills and staff training roles.

Prior to his Chateau Élan Hotel & Spa appointment, Haubner worked for Davidson Hotel Company properties in New Mexico, Florida and California as Director of Food & Beverage.

Haubner commented on his new role as General Manager, saying, “This is an exciting property because of its unique location above Sebring International Raceway, the
oldest and certainly one of the most famous circuits in America. The spectator viewing is tremendous and because we host many of the top international automotive teams throughout the year, our guests have the opportunity of getting up close and personal with many of the greatest names in racing.”
