Keith Kefgen, President of HVS Executive Search has announced the appointment of Mark Keith as Managing Director of the firmå‘s Hong Kong office. The premier executive search and human resource consulting firm for the lodging, gaming, and restaurant industries, HVS Executive Search will establish search capabilities in the Asia/Pacific Region.

Before joining HVS Executive Search Mark was engaged as General Manager, Human Resources with The Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels Limited, owners and managers of The Peninsula Group.  Previously, Mr. Keith served in a senior Human Resource capacity with Holiday Inns Worldwide in the Asia-Pacific Region, and as General Manager, Human Resources with The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

In 1988 he established and was a partner with, Keith, Mayoh & Associates Executive Search, an international search consultancy with offices in Hong Kong and the UK specializing in the hospitality industry. 

Prior to moving to Hong Kong in 1982, Mr. Keith worked with Inter-Continental Hotels in the Middle East and previously served in a regional Human Resources capacity with Hilton International.  His work with Hilton International took him to Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Turkey, Bahrain and Egypt.  He has lived and worked in Iran, Lesotho and Nigeria.  He has been responsible for the staffing and training for over fifteen hotel openings, in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.

Mr. Keith`s early career was in operation and sales in London with Grand Metropolitan Hotels.  He has a Master of Science degree from the Centre of Labour Market Studies at the University of Leicester.  He obtained membership of the Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management Association (MHCIMA); the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) with the American, Hotel and Motel Association.  During his career he has become a certified user of a number of psychometric assessment tools and is a certified Instructor and Trainer with the Hotel & Catering Industry Training Board.

Born and raised in the United Kingdom, he is married and has a daughter and a son.  Mr. Keith is a keen athlete participating in running and mountain biking and in addition to his hotel career he also studied at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served as a commissioned officer with The Royal Hong Kong Regiment.

Mr. Keith`s extensive knowledge of Asia and its cultures, combined with his broad experience in the hotel industry will enable him to advise HVS clients on all relevant aspects of their business and the implications of executive search appointments and related areas.
