Boykin Lodging Company Names Michael Murphy Senior Vice President of Acquisitions

Boykin Lodging Company (NYSE: BOY) today announced that Michael Murphy has joined the company’s management team as a Senior Vice President of Acquisitions. Mr. Murphy will partner with Mark L. Bishop, who will continue to serve as a Senior Vice President of Acquisitions, to manage the company’s search for and negotiations relating to acquisitions of full-service commercial and resort hotel properties.

Mr. Murphy, 41, comes to Boykin Lodging from hotel REIT Patriot American Hospitality, Inc., (NYSE: PAH) where he was Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and directly responsible for sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and closing property and related management company acquisitions. During his 18-month tenure at Patriot American, he closed $820 million worth of hotel and resort acquisitions and was significantly involved in increasing the company’s portfolio from 31 to 70 properties.

Mr. Murphy earned his B.A. in English at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in New York, New York.
