Cendant`s Hotel Group Announces Senior Appointment

Parsippany, NJ 06-17-2002—Cendant Corporation`s hotel group today announced the appointment of William Masciangelo as senior director, government & military sales.


He will serve as sales liaison with federal, state and local government agencies including the Defense Department and branches of the military.


Masciangelo, who spent 20 years as a Marine Corps officer and is a combat veteran, has 16 years of hospitality industry experience. He formerly was president of Blackwater Training Center in Moyock, N.C., the world`s largest full-service tactical training and target manufacturing center for law enforcement and the military.


From 1994 to 1998 he served Bass Hotels & Resorts in Atlanta as field marketing manager, Holiday Inn Select brand marketing manager and regional director, sales development. He was assistant general manager of the Sheraton Reston Hotel in Reston, Va., in 1994; director of marketing & catering sales for the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, Va., from 1993 to 1994; and sales manager of the Sheraton Premiere at Tysons Corner Hotel in Vienna, Va., in 1993.


From 1992 to 1993, he was vice president of training for The Reunion Network in Hollywood, Fla. He was director of the Military & Veterans Network for ITT Sheraton Corporation based in Bethesda, Md., from 1989 to 1992 and manager, military markets, for Sheraton Hotels of Northern Virginia from 1988 to 1989. In 1987 he served Access World Travel in Washington, D.C., as vice president, sales, marketing & administration. From 1986 to 1987 he was executive director of Capital Meeting Management in Alexandria, Va.

Masciangelo received his bachelor`s degree in education from Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa., and his master`s degree in education from United States International University in San Diego. He is a member of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.
