PHOENIX - Best Western International announces the promotion of Loyd Nygaard to managing director, Member Operations Support. In his position, Nygaard oversees key property-level operational functions including Quality Assurance, consulting and training efforts by the regional service managers team, and revenue and reservations enhancements through the revenue managers team.

Nygaard has been with Best Western since 1988. During his tenure, he has continually advanced through the organization. He has served as director, Member Operations Support, a regional service director, manager of regional service consultants and manager of Quality Assurance.

Nygaard has been instrumental in developing a global quality assurance program. He was also a key factor in the successful conversion of Best Western’s former quality assurance program into the new Regional Service Managers team designed not only to rate the quality and service levels of each hotel, but to also provide proactive feedback and assistance in operational and revenue generating tactics.

Prior to joining Best Western, Nygaard was a partner in Continental Management where he owned and operated several businesses. He gained valuable experience in project planning, financial analysis, franchising, marketing and operational procedures.

Nygaard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He is also a Certified Hotel Administrator.
